Short or Long Sleeved?

One of the most important style choices to make when selecting your leotard is whether to opt for a sleeveless or long sleeved option. Your decision may be dictated by a number of reasons. For example, are you buying a leotard for training or a competition? It’s a general rule of thumb within gymnastics that competitions expect participants to perform in a long sleeved leotard. However, more recently, more and more competitions have started to accept other variations.

Naturally, because there is more material to play with on a long sleeved leotard, there are more options when it comes to style. However, this can often mean a higher cost than a sleeveless option. Another factor may be where you train. If your training centre is cold or you spend a lot of time travelling, you may opt for a long sleeved leotard. However, if the opposite is true and your training gym is quite stuffy, you may benefit from having a sleeveless option.
